Great Cats for Great Homes

  Kali is your typical snuggle cat, sometimes she wants to snuggle and sometimes she doesn't. She is very loving and wants to be around people, but she is also used to lounging around when we are at work. She loves to sit on the window sill and soak up the sun and has been known to jump from window to window. She likes to chase around the occasional fly when it gets in the house, but aside from that she is quite content being lazy. She loves her toys and enjoys having a place to perch. She loves playing with anything that has cat nip. She also has a unique trick where if you leave any coins laying around, primarily pennies, she will play with them. She actually plays fetch with them. You can toss them, she will chase after them, play with the penny and then bring it back to you. She enjoys this endlessly. She hasn't been around any other cats, so I don't know how she would do with that, but she is tolerant of our black lab. They get along just fine, but the lab is also a young puppy and thinks that Kali is another playmate. Kali usually avoids him but has never been mean to the dog. As a cat, I would think she sees him as a nuisance, but one she just avoids. They walk around the house together, but don't sleep in the same rooms. Kali has only been front declawed, so if she goes outside she could defend herself, but I wouldn't leave her out at night. She would love to explore. She is completely potty trained. With all that said, I am sadly moving from my small apartment to an even smaller apartment and I can't take her with me. She was my comfort pet and I will miss her, but she needs space to explore. My apartment was on an upper level and she couldn't get out to explore either and there just isn't enough space inside where I am moving. She would love a big house to explore or a decent apartment, especially a ground floor apartment where she could go out during the day and come back in. I would only do this after she was acclimated to the house since she hasn't been out before. She is an amazingly soft and cuddly cat. It would take time for her to warm up to anyone new, but she has been around adults and children and does well with both. We hope that you will consider adopting Kali as a new member of your family.
