Great Cats for Great Homes

Benji is a beautiful, big orange, tuxedo tabby who is looking for a soul mate. He is about 6 years old and is in very good health. He is up to date on his rabies shots and is also microchipped. With us he is an indoor only cat. He loves to sit in the window, watch the world go by and dream of catching that darn squirrel. Occasionally he likes to play a wild game of ribbon! Despite his big, sturdy build Benji has the cutest tiny meow! It is the meow of a pint size kitty wrapped in a big kitty body. In the right home he would be affectionate and potentially a lap cat. When he first came to live with us he would sleep on the bed and sit in our laps. Due to a conflict with one of our other cats he does not do this anymore. I think he misses this time with his people. Benji’s ideal owner is a single person or couple who want a low­key Friskies kitty of their very own. He is not a demanding kitty of your time, but if you do make an effort to bond with him you will have a true buddy. He has his claws but is not really a furniture scratcher. In our home he uses the cat tree as his favorite scratching place and ignores the carpet and furniture. Benji is perfectly litter trained and does not seem phased by litter brand, or box placement. Humorously, Benji loves our big dogs! We have two dogs, one 75 lbs and one 45 lbs. He regularly tries to curl up with and rub on both of them. When our younger dog tries to play with him he just rolls over on his back and looks non phased. I think he was a dog in a past incarnation. He is a great cat for a dog owner! Benji can sadly not live with us anymore because he and our elderly female cat, who’s health is becoming increasingly fragile, do not get along and fight frequently. This is unfair to the elderly cat, whom we have had for 16 years, and unfair to Benji. Benji deserves a home where he is the star. He does live in our house with other younger cats without incident. He could potentially live with another cat. However, Benji is a rough player. Consequently, any cat with whom he shares a home needs to be alright with the occasional round of rough cat play. He could be a good companion for a younger, laid­back cat. It is a very hard decision to find Benji another home but we believe his Dude is out there
