Gilby is a very smart cat. He follows a scheduled routine for eating and sleeping - which, has always impressed me! He sits up for his treats, loves bathroom attention, and really enjoys outside time when he's able. He has an enclosed upper deck now, and loves watching the birds & bugs fly by. He tolerates having his nails trimmed, but likes to have a scratcher handy to sharpen them back up. He has never been destructive. He doesn't claw or chew on furniture or other items (shoes, cords etc.). He does shed though, particularly in the early summer, but he enjoys being brushed. If you have a window sill wide enough for him to lay, that is where you will often find him camped out, taking in the view. Or, curled up in a yoga-esk pose snoozing the day away. He is funny about his food, the bowl always should be half full or more, or he thinks he is going to starve. But, he's not picky about water, or about his litter box. He always uses the litter box, and even when he's been allowed outside, he saves it up till he gets back inside. He does well with dogs, he might even think he is one. He's been known to play with stuffed animals as much as with the cat tickler sticks. He's very curious, but also a bit unsettled by loud noises and sudden movements. He also travels well. He would be a great addition to a quiet home with other cats or dogs, but not likely small children. I have had Gilby since he was a kitten. He has no bad habits, or health issues. He's been an incredibly easy cat, and is a very smart sweet boy. He will excel in any home that appreciates a lot of schmearing and purring.
