Sammi: 

Half Bengal; female, spayed; 13 ½ years old (born November 11, 2001); indoor/outdoor; has all her claws. 
 
In some ways you can tell Sammi is getting older, like how she seeks out warm places to nap (her first choice is a person – she will always cuddle up when we lay on the couch or head to bed). But at other times, she’s so frisky and playful you’d never guess how old she is. Her favorite toys are long strings or feather wands - anything you can wiggle around so she can stalk and pounce. Sammi is not a hunter, although she likes to try to catch dragonflies in the summer. She needs to have the freedom to come in and go out on demand – she loves having a pet door. 
 
Sammi is a talker, so be prepared, and she often won’t stop talking even though you’re giving her what she wants. If you like to have lengthy conversations with cats, Sammi’s the one for you! Sammi also has a passion (and a nose) for raw chicken – when I open a package, she materializes instantly! Sammi always sleeps with us. She isn’t intrusive and just curls up near our legs or feet. She also loves my computer chair - right now, she’s curled up behind me. Yes, I often work perched on the front edge of my chair!
