Tommy, aka Mr. Suave and Debonair is sweet, shy and docile. But once he gets to know you he will love to swish about with his very impressive bottle-brush tail. He’ll head-bump your legs when you’re sitting and throw himself at your feet for a good ear or belly scritch. He likes to sleep on the end of the bed or curled up next to your side purring wildly thru the night. He’ll be pleased to escort you everywhere you go around the house and has a wonderful conversational manner. We adopted him when he was about 8 weeks old at the Animal Shelter on Columbia Blvd. He is current on all his vaccinations until March 2014, when he needs his rabies update. All vet papers will be provided. He is also current on his Multnomah county license. We think he may have some Norwegian Forest Cat in him due to personality, size, and that water rolls off his fur like a duck and he likes to play in sprinkling water! He’s a solid 13 lbs of love. Tommy has not been around children or dogs much and shies away from the sounds of children playing and shouting in the yard next door. For his first year and a half he was an indoor cat. Tommy is an official watcher and supervisor of squirrels, birds, bugs, TV and people. He does not hunt or eat outdoor creatures-well, maybe a jumpy or flying bug or two in the summer. He does not like loud sudden sounds or movements much, but really appreciates classical music, hairball crunchy treats -almost a must for him with his coarse, so thick fur, catnip (fresh rubbed on his cheeks and face, dry on toys) meow mix dry food. Tommy has lived with a smaller, younger female and they have been lively, playful and affectionate companions. And despite their size differences, Tommy was always gentle in his playing with the kitten even though he outweighed her by about 8 pounds initially! I expect Tommy would be an excellent companion to another non-overly-aggressive cat in a household. He would also be ideal for an individual or couple who are ready to welcome a giant, gentle, fluffy, lover-boy into their home. Tommy is offered for adoption by his current owner as he is moving due to employment and cannot take him. CCR helps cats like Tommy find a loving home outside of a shelter environment.
