Leo is a 6 year old American short hair kitty. His fur is all black and he has sparkly green eyes. He weighs about 15 pounds and the vet says he is healthy at that weight - he's just a big boy. Leo loves to be close and cuddle. He likes to be picked up and will curl up in your lap and purr for as long as you'll have him. He is very friendly and doesn't hide when we have friends over - he may wait to come say hello until they are seated but he is very curious and always wants to check things out. He loves bags and boxes like most cats and will always climb into the laundry basket if given the opportunity.
One of Leo's most favorite things is to "help" make the bed - he knows when I strip the sheets off that it's just a matter of time before I make it and he will lay in wait. He lays there and purrs while I literally make the bed right over the top of him: fitted sheet, flat sheet, blanket and comforter! He will sleep there for hours like a funny little lump in the bed.
Leo is very playful - especially right around bedtime. When we're getting ready for bed he will hide behind doors and leap out to attack our feet as we walk by. He doesn't use his claws at all, he just bats at us with his paws. I usually pull out two or three of his catnip mice and toss them around the living room for him when we go to sleep and we always hear him racing around.
Leo gets along well with our dog Sophie and he will sometimes playfully attack her tail or start running from one end of the room to the other trying to get her to chase him. Sophie is the only dog he has ever been around and we adopted her (at 9 months) when Leo was 7-8 months old - so they really grew up together. Leo is always consistent with good litter box use but like most cats he likes his box kept clean. It breaks our hearts that we have medical issues that force us to say goodbye to this wonderful cat. We hope that you will be the one to fill the rest of his life with love.
