Maurice is a gentle giant, and a big lovable goofball! ❤️. He comes from Albany Talking Waters and was trapped and vetted and release (TNR) over a year ago, back to the feral colony that are fed and monitored daily. Thing is he socialized himself to his feeders and it became apparent he was a faux feral. Had us all fooled! He loves his humans more than life itself. It makes him the happiest boy in the world when he jumps in your lap and just melts into you. He'll actually start to drift off to sleep in your lap, if you let him. But he could stay there all day. Maurice is such a big baby, too. He doesn't mind being picked up and held and carried around, and when cuddling, purrs and drools to his heart's content. And he takes his biscuit making very seriously, too.. He isn't as playful as he is a cuddler. But we think his learning to play with toys is still in its infancy. But he enjoys going for walks with you. Only you will need to leash train him with an appropriate halter when adopted and after enough time for acclimation to his new home. The ideal home would be with someone who is a homebody or retired or just real laid back are his kind of people. Someone who will give him loads of love and attention and allow him to be a lap cat would be his happy home. He is fine with dogs who are well behaved and tolerates cats, but tends to be on the submissive side. Uncertain with children, but we think he would be fine with well supervised young children. He can be an indoor/outdoor cat but knows how to use the litterbox. As stated, he was neutered 6/12/23 (eartipped) and tested for FelV/FIV, and negative for both. He got his first set of shots then too and July 11, 2024 will be UTD again with a 3 yr Rabies and 1 yr FVRCP (treats/prevents Distemper, Herpes, and URIs). He will be microchipped, and final dewormer and monthly flea treatment upon adoption and delivered to your home with medical records. We are asking for a donation of $165 for his adoption fee.
