Cooper is playful and affectionate. At 10 years old he loves rolling around on the floor with a Yeowww catnip toy or chasing a stuffed mouse teaser. He also loves kneading bellies and giving headbutts in return for pets (which he will quietly ask for with a cute chirpy meow). His only problem is his skittishness. He's very shy with new people and takes awhile to trust them. He needs someone patient, and ideally a quiet home without other cats or dogs.

It's a long backstory, but in short, I ended up with four cats in a one-bedroom apartment. Cooper was starting to be bullied by one of his brothers when they all reached age five, but it became worse and worse after we moved into a smaller place. It reached the point where he was spending most of his hours in a kitchen cupboard, and he was even harassed when using the litter box.

I found a family to take him in. While he slowly warmed to them, something went awry last October (they have a dog, which may have been a factor) and now he's hiding out in the basement.  Cooper is a sweet and loving cat and I would like to find him a patient and loving home where he can calmly live out the last years of his life.

Cooper is indoor only but would love a cat tree to look out a window on the world.  Because of the unintentional trauma in his earlier years calm and patience will win him over.  His lovely coat needs to be kept brushed or combed.  If you have the time and the calm home he needs please apply for him via the catscradlerescue.com website under the word ADOPTION for further information.  Adoption fee is $75.  Cooper is neutered and UTD on vaccines.
