Tabby (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult
Alameda (nickname Allie) is a 7-year-old female Brown Tabby cat with a super sweet personality and a great cat to cuddle on the couch with while reading or watching TV. She is originally from Alabama and was rescued and transferred to Oregon by the Oregon Humane Society in March 2019. She is current on all of her vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and is very healthy. She has been diagnosed with a slight heart murmur and has had gingivitis in the past, but there were not any recommendations regarding treatment from the vet on the heart murmur as it is pretty common in cats and many cats live long healthy lives with it. In the past, we have had her teeth cleaned by the vet in order to help with her gingivitis when needed. She is fully potty trained and has never had any issue with using the litter box (we use an open litter box without a lid). Allie will thrive in a calm household, most likely away from dogs, or too much activity. I do not know if she does well with other cats or not because she has never had a cat companion, but it might be best if she is the only pet in the household. She may take a few weeks to adjust to a new home but when she comes out of her shell, she is very loyal and loving to her favorite people. We found that playing with her, being patient, and having a comfy window seat for her to look out at the world from will help her feel at home. She loves to play with toys and get the occasional treat. She loves to hang out with you while you cook or lay in bed and is always excited to go outside. Allie is an indoor/outdoor cat, and she loves laying in the sun and watching birds. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep her because she has not adjusted well to our dogs and is showing signs of stress (such as hiding under beds) due to their noise and activity levels. While the dogs are in training to help with this issue, we feel this is not the best environment for her any longer and have tried the last couple years to resolve the issue without any luck. I definitely think she would do much better in a home without dogs because she seemed more friendly and happier before they came along, unfortunately. She is pretty low maintenance overall and is very happy napping by herself all day. Allie is a truly sweet cat who loves her people and would make a great cat for a person looking for some companionship, a couple, or a small family. $75 adoption fee. Indoor-Outdoor
