Lenny is a gentle, friendly and calm cat about 9 - 10 months old.  He has wonky back legs due to a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia or CH.  CH kitties can occur when the mom cat was subjected to a virus at a precise time in the kitten's pre-birth development.  He is not in any pain, his legs are not malformed or injured he just walks funny and cannot jump.

He travels all over our houses and runs and skids on hardsurface floors.  He moves more steadily on carpets.  He is not FAST but he is determined and his legs don't really slow him down much.  He is generally quiet and calm and wants to be friends with my male cat (11 yrs) who touches noses with him but doesn't want to play.  I think he would do well with a cat that wants to be a friend - he is not territorial or mean in any way.

He is ok being picked up and would love to snuggle on you at night.

He uses the litter box with no problems but because his rear legs are not strong sometimes he tips and might accidentally potty on his feet.    He uses a taller litter box with easy access in the front which will go with him to his new home.  I only use non-clumping litter with him, not pellets though, to keep him cleaner.  He is not great at grooming himself and brushing him is important.

BACKSTORY:  Lenny was surrendered to CCR in March from his family that got him from a park ranger last Winter when he was left alone in a campground.  He would sleep with the older children but the family was not prepared for a kitten, let alone a kitten who had some walking issues.

Due to COVID-19 we do not have adoption events but we can still figure out a meet and greet either virtually or in a socially-distanced situation.

Please contact the foster family at 503.312.4296 for furthere information or apply online at catscradlerescue.com/to-adopt.  His a doption fee of $120 includes spay/neuter, microchip, worming and flea treatment, current vaccines, vet exam and free 30-day insurance offer.  Lenny is negative for FIV and FeLV.
