Great Cats for Great Homes

  Betu is an affectionate, shy, sweet girl. She loves to spend time with her people and loves to be petted. She will knead and purr while being petted. Sometimes she will swat your hand (without claws) if you stop petting her and she wants to be petted more or if you pet her when she doesn't want to be petted. When she is really into being petted, she will roll over on her back and grab your hand with her paws. She especially likes her forehead petted and scratched. Betu is scared of fast movements and will retreat if you move too quickly and then plop down, roll over and want you to pet her. Betu is still working on feeling comfortable sitting on laps and being held, but she is making great progress. One of her favorite past times, besides siting on her climber and watching the birds and squirrels outside, is to curl up in her cat bed under the desk at her foster's feet while her foster works from home. Betu greets her foster mom every morning with a soft meow asking to be petted and then plops over on the floor to be petted while she kneads her paws in the air. Betu loves to play. Her favorite toy is her toy mouse, but she loves anything that moves, crinkles or chirps. She will carry her toy mouse in her mouth and try to swat it under her curved, cardboard, scratcher so she can then try and reach under the scratcher to get it out. Every morning her mouse can be found under her scratcher! Betu is getting used the the large dog in her foster home and is comfortable around the dog when he is mellow and keeps a distance of at least three feet from her. She also likes the company of the friendly cat in her foster home. Betu is looking for a quite home with either no children or respectful, older children. She would do fine with a very cat friendly, gentle cat and possibly a very mellow, cat friendly dog. She is spayed, vaccinated and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
