My name is Alice and I've been through a lot during my 9 short months of life. My foster dad rescued me from an apartment complex in which I had been abandoned. At the time, my paws, chest and leg were burned from my attempt to get warm on the engine of a car. One of the first things my foster dad did was take me to a vet to have my burns treated, and they are healing nicely. He also had me tested for FIV and FeLV. While I am negative for FIV, my confirmation test shows that I am positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). I know FeLV scares many people, it scared me at first too, but the more I read about it the better I understand that this isn't a death sentence for me. I've learned that I have a lot more life to live. My foster dad says that he's never met another cat so affectionate. I give off an attitude of gratitude as I sit in his lap, get belly rubs and chin scratches. My foster dad made sure that I am up to date on vaccines, spayed and chipped just in case I ever get lost. Due to my FeLV, I will need to be an indoor only cat and live in a home as the only cat or with other FeLV+ cats (dogs can't catch FeLV so I can live with them).  I have a lot of love to give and hope there is someone out there willing to look past my FeLV and see me for the affectionate, gentle and loyal cat that I am.
