Great Cats for Great Homes

  Ellie has been with our family since she was a kitten and absolutely loves snuggles from older kids and adults. Laying on your chest or lap is a favorite for her. She is good with our small children- 3 years, 2 years, and 10 mos, but doesn’t tend to lay with them like she does my husband and I. We also have a Newfoundland dog and she does fine around him. I am not sure how she would do around other dogs, but I would assume ok. She also grew up with another cat and did fine with him while he was alive. Ellie was an indoor only cat for the first 7 years of her life. In the past couple years, she has discovered she likes going outside in our backyard but I think she would do wonderful as an indoor only cat, especially if she was with a family that gave her lots of love and snuggles. It has simply been impossible to prevent her from running outside with two toddlers who run in and out our back door. We are sad to have to make the decision to find Ellie another home, but one of our kids has developed an allergy to cats and we are not able to make having a cat and a child with a cat allergy work. We think Ellie would fit in well with families with children but we also think she would be a perfect fit for an older cat lover who would love a snuggly cat friend.
