Great Cats for Great Homes

Spinner is a 6 year old female Abyssinian mix. Her owner passed away and I am a family friend trying to find homes for all of her cats. Abyssinians are known for being highly intelligent and have dog like bonding with their owners. She has a gorgeous ticked coat and beautiful green eyes. Her meows are adorable and she absolutely loves getting rubbed, petted and scratched by whomever she trusts (currently that is me, as I come to feed). Spinner used to sleep inside on owner’s bed often and sit on her lap, but she loves being outside now also. She can have a pretty active mind, whether it’s looking out window surveying her territory, chasing flies, or showing off racing past me at top speed in her massive back yard. She is tough, smart and quick, with excellent sight and hearing.

She never leaves the perimeter of the yard where she currently lives, however a proper acclimation to any new property will be mandatory. I do think it important for her to have someone to bond with if she lives outside, as she really enjoys a bit of time and contact from her human, so someone who will enjoy giving her love and pets. The owner used to be outside a lot gardening and working on property so she is used to that kind of thing. She has always lived with many cats, but since the owner passed, I have observed her being territorial with some.

She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, and will be verified by her vet at her annual exam before going to her new home. I can supply some food and supplies to get you started, and help with instructions on her acclimation to a new home. I will also always be available to help in any way in future. I really want to keep her out of the shelter. Spinner is absolutely wonderful, if I could keep her I would but I already took on the sickest oldest cat and fostering two more so I can’t do it.
