My mom contacted you last week about a cat that was abandoned when the owners moved a few years ago.  He has been the neighborhood cat since then, going from house to house and being fed.  He got along fine with the other neighborhood cats, and never caused any problems.  He’s probably 10-12years old but appears to be healthy according to the vet he just saw, other then needing a dental cleaning, and he’s lost most of his teeth, so I have been feeding him mainly canned food, but dry is out for him as well and he does eat it occasionally.  2 weeks ago when we got snow, I felt sorry for him being outside shivering, so I brought him to my house and he is currently in my office.  He is a major love bug, and he just lays on my lap while I work all day long, and sleeps on me.  He never meows, doesn’t scratch or ruin things, uses the litterbox and is just an all around great cat.  He loves my little dog and will rub on my little dog sometimes, but generally just lays on my lap.  My big dogs and cat hates cats, so I can’t see how he is with them.  My guess is that he is great with everything because he’s so mellow and loving.  

He is great with my 8 year old, and I think a home with older children that know he’s an old man that needs to be treated gently would be great.  He’s happiest sitting on your lap or sitting in a chair next to you. 

I would send him with a big bag of cat food and lots of canned food.
