Great Cats for Great Homes

  Two 2-year-old indoor-only cats need to be rehomed. Current with all vet checkups, healthy, and neutered. We unfortunately have to rehome them due to allergies. We have had the cats for two years, since they were kittens.

The cat’s names are Alphonse and Johann, both boys. Both cats are very affectionate, and are from the same litter. They g et along well with small dogs, but have never been around large dogs, children, or other cats.

Alphonse personality: very shy and scared of people he doesn’t know, but very loving and outgoing around his family. He is scared of the outdoors and has never spent any time outside. He loves to lay on your lap on his back and be petted, and will reach up with his paws to get you to pet him. We call it the "Alphonse flop." An Alphonse flop is when he comes up to you and in one quick motion flops onto his back and into your lap, expecting to be petted. He then proceeds to purr very very loud! It's one of the things we love about him. Alphonse also loves bird-related toys and watching birds from the safety of his window perch. He loves to be near to us, but also enjoys his alone time. We often find him sleeping at the top of our stairs or in one of his beds in the room next to the one we are currently in.

Johann personality: very outgoing. Makes cute chirping noises when he plays. He’s a lap cat, and almost always wants to be right next to you or in your lap. He loves to be petted and to play with snake-type toys. Johann interacts with us a lot and is always near. Johann has a somewhat challenging personality trait, in that he eats strings, so you have to keep anything string-like put away. That includes shoelaces, sweatshirt drawstrings, and any toys with strings on them. You can still use these items around him and play with string toys (their his favorite kind of toy), he just can’t be left unsupervised with them or he will swallow them. Basically if you keep your shoes in the closet and any clothing-related strings put away things will be just fine.
