"Scuttlebutt is a little mature lady of about 10 years who is sweeter than pie when she warms up to you. She was a rescue, and we have reason to believe that someone was not very gentle with her in the past, so she asks that you please have patience with her jumpy self.  She can take a long time to adjust, but afterwards she has one goal: to get snuggled right up to you. Scuttlebutt lives to lay next to you in bed or on the couch. Wherever you are sitting, she would like to be there too. She loves tummy rubs, and butt scratches. She isn't extremely interested in toys, but does get curious about the ball-in-track toys we have given her. She will not turn you down for a good roll in catnip.  She has a healthy appetite(she is fed the Royal Canin brand, but loves food no matter what it is), has very recently been to the vet to get her shots and her teeth cleaned, and came back with a clean bill of health. We have not had trouble with her using the litterbox. We do recommend that she have an open litterbox, not a covered. She does not like to use covered litterboxes.

We have had Scuttlebutt for two years, and love her dearly. Unfortunately the tenuous relationship between her and our other resident rescue cat has gone downhill since we moved into our new apartment. He is a little too rambunctious for poor Miss Scuttles. She does not like being picked on and chased all over the house, and this has led to outright fighting. It is very stressful for all involved, and despite all of our best efforts the situation has not improved. It is no longer fair of us to keep her when she is so clearly unhappy.  We think that Scuttlebutt would be well suited for a quiet home where she can be your one and only furry love. She disappears when young children are around, and we think she'd do best in a house without kids, or with older kids that can be respectful of her wishes to not be handled roughly.

We so hope to find her a home where she will be happy"
